Arizona Baseball League
The Arizona Baseball League is entering it’s third season in September of 2010. We offer competitive baseball & professional coaching for 8-15 year olds in the greater Phoenix area in the Fall & Winter months. Our Fall Season lasts September-November & the Winter Season covers the months of December & January. Last year we had over 300 players in our league.
The most important facet about this league is that it will be instructional as well as competitive. We will have current & former professional baseball players and Major League scouts as the coaches. You can see their bios on our Staff Page. Games can & will be stopped momentarily by our coaching staff if they feel they have a teachable moment.
We have a North Division that is located in North Phoenix & Scottsdale and a South Division that is located in the Gilbert/Mesa area. Players will be put in one of three leagues, which are divided up by age groups. Our three leagues are named A, AA & AAA. The teams in the (A) League will consist of 8 to 10 year olds. The (AA) League will consist of 11 to 12 year olds. The (AAA) League will have players who are 13 to 15 years of age. Your league age will be determined by how old you will be on April 30th, 2011. Each team will have an 11 to 12 person roster.
There are no set boundaries so it is your decision on where you want to play. This is a first come, first serve opportunity so teams will fill up fast. We have had families from Page, Prescott & Flagstaff make the drive down to Phoenix every week just to play with us the last 2 seasons.
Our Fall Season begins on September 8th and ends on November 20th. This is currently offered only to players in the AAA League in the North Division. The reason for this is that many of our coaches are still playing professional baseball and will not be home until October or November. All practices and games will be held at Roadrunner Park (Cactus Rd & 36th St) on Wednesdays & Saturdays and Sereno Park (Sweetwater Rd & 56th St) on Fridays. There is a possibility that more locations may be added in early September.
VERY IMPORTANT NOTE!!!- As of 10pm on Tuesday, Sept. 7th our waiting list has grown to the point where we are adding a 5th team to the league! Those people have been added to the league which brings us up to 59 players. Our roster limit is 12 per team so that means we have only 1 more spot to fill. Our opening workouts begin on Sept 8th so sign up today! Once we hit 60 players we will start a new waiting list. If we get enough interest we may add a 6th team. The cost for the Fall Season is $225. This includes uniform top, ball cap, practices, games, playoff series & your head coaches’ salary. This breaks down to only $75 /month. Many club & travel organizations charge over $200/month to be on their team & they have no pro baseball experience. Feel free to call us with any questions.
Our Winter Season is offered to players in all three of our Leagues (A, AA & AAA) in both the North and South Division. Play for the Winter begins on November 29th and ends on January 29th. Field information regarding our Winter Season for both Divisions will be available in late September so make sure to check back in the near future.
